Sometimes (not very often) you'll hear something that beautiful it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. This is one of those moments and it happens everytime I listen to this. Buddy, you're the man.

Wonderful treatment of Morricone's gorgeous melodic work. Emmons is such a great talent - This is quite a combination! Thanks for this post!

Once Upon A TIme In The West has about five distinct musical themes, and they are all tremendously memorable....True inspiration shined down on Morriccione's head when he produce that score...
I probably misspelled Morriccione....

When did they let him start displaying the Emmons name on the steel again??? Boy, there's a good story to go along with that question!! Hit me up and I'll tell you off line.

My favorite steel guitarist of all time. I saw him in concert with Jeff Newman in the summer of 1983, and still to this day, this remains the most memorable event in my steel career. I'd be happy if I could play a fraction as good as the Big "E". He's one tough act to follow, but worth all the effort. |
