Great stuff, I enjoyed that and I like your presentation style. I would only comment that when Free originally split up, Kossoff's drug use wasn't a problem - but the split hit him so hard that it then became one. They reformed in part to try and help him get clean, but this was not successful. Anyway, good work my friend. :)

Your enthusiasm for this music is fantastic! You get 'it' and do a great job introducing this stuff those who may not have gotten 'it' yet. Excellent video in honor of an incredible player gone way too soon. Best wishes, T

By the nature that is Youtube things generally sound way more compressed than they do when recording because the files are compressed when uploaded to YT. Reverb sounds a lot MORE as does overdrive, compression and so on. Youtube doesn't give that great of sound quality for sure.

hi, man. Free is my favourite band of all time and Koss is my best guitarist ever. Just to point out. your tone would be better but is too compressed, or at least recording sounds this way. perhaps it's your camera. Perhaps decrease the amount of drive/gain especially when you play Mr Big. there's no distortion on the recording. just round, full tone of Plexi. I hope it helps. Im happy to meet another Free/Koss freak:) take care.yo

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! You must have been the winner on that WKRP contest in Cinn., naming all those songs with Dr. Johnny Fever! Very well done.
Thanks for correcting me on how Paul Kossoff died, but the cause of death was still from him being a drug addict nonetheless. Thank you for the comment.

Let me see....Mr Big, Trouble on Double Time, Ride On Pony, Walk in My Shadow, I'm A Mover, I'll be Creepin, Fire and Water....Andy Fraser also played piano. Kossoff didn't die from an overdose, It was heart failure (due to drug abuse) on a flight to New York. Nice Les Paul. Great collection of Free's material.

Yes, I have seen Mr. Kossoff tell Paul's story. It was very cool.
I have had the Foamfoot CD for years, one of my favorites for sure!
Also have the Gov't Mule "With A Little Help..." where they do Mr. Big & The Hunter. All great performances!! |
