@ArsathG _Johnny lee gives it away for free, then another institution gets hold of his technology, makes it better, patents it, then sells & licenses it for profit. Never give an original idea away for free. Why? Because eventually the technology will become common and wide spread, and over time it will become cheaper and accessible for those with tiny budgets anyway. This guy could have become a millionaire who now has a substantial R&D budget to develop bigger and better things.

@wakojako49 The infra-red dots must be in the eyes of the observer (like the glasses he showed) in a 3d space in front of the screen, not in a digital image >.<

See the internet allows access to new innovations. If SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA were passed we won't be able to do things like what Johnny did with the Wii Remote.

what the ..... that is cool. that 3d thing is cool... ow god! i just realised web camera now a days have programs that can do facial recognition, which takes the eyes and mouth as data. you know what. you could do this with the same tech instead of two infra-red dots use the eyes and mouth as a tracking spot. that's amazing. :D

And yet we still don't have a game with THIS tech. I know there are 3D TVs with really expensive glasses.
