@etejuanete3 At this point, you're talking out of your ass and you know it. Just because Thom is the lead singer of the band, it doesn't mean the other band members have a say in how the music is made. Its not all up to him. Also, the fact that you're a Radiohead fan doesn't make you creative, that doesn't even make sense. I'm an avid fan of the Adicts, so I like to put on facepaint to look like a mime. That makes sense because the band does it, meaning I do too! Logic sure does make sense!

@bullethead2202 do you know how aband works? you're obviously not a musician. Ed is a great guitarrist he doesn't move the band. Thom does. now, if you find 'em similar, cool, that's your opinion. not a fact when you're a Rh fan, you realize how creative you can be. CREATIVE. it means doing something new, that no one has done before. not everythin is about imitating. we all come from somewhere, but we're not going in the same direction. being stuck is easy, but moving on is not

@etejuanete3 I was already aware of Radiohead's influences, I just hear a modernized Pink Floyd whenever I listen to them. I don't see why Radiohead fans have to be so ignorant. I myself am a fan of Radiohead, but I don't think that any band that was influenced or sounds similar to them is ripping them off. Also, to make the point clear, Pink Floyd is Ed's main influence. Just because Thom wasn't a huge fan doesn't mean the band as a whole wasn't influenced by them.

@bullethead2202 let me clear something for ya: influence ≠ imitation Radiohead have been asked many times if they were influenced by Pink Floyd. Being a "no" the only answer. Thom said that he liked them, but never really got into them. they've never denied any influence. here you have some: REM, Queen, The Pixies, the Beatles. but not Pink Floyd, or U2 (as many thought before). now that you know, just tell me if they sound so alike their influences as Coldplay sounds like Radiohead. Nope

@Illadelphism I wish I didn't have to explain this so often. Coldplay has openly admitted to being Radiohead fans, saying Ok Computer changed their lives. How did you learn how to walk? Imitation. How did you learn to speak? Imitation. Many of Radiohead's songs sound much like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album, so obviously they copied them. The Adicts sound a lot like the Misfits; obvious plagiarism. Your logic is flawed.

The fact is that Radiohead make exciting music; you don't know what they will bring out next and how it will sound. Coldplay are predictable, only really good for making the occasional catchy anthem, and are ultimately boring.

radiohead: it's kinda difficult to hear the song but when you get them you will love them. coldplay: easy listening, but if you listen it over 9000 times you'll get bored. (both bands are amazing)

@Illadelphism wow dude, without influence music will die man
thethawsession (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
As a point Chris Martin has said at the beginning they were just a shit radiohead. Quote. But does it fucking matter? Both make great music, to different appeals and tests. I don't care who imitates who, or influenced who(marginally untrue) or whose better. If this makes me dance, and Life In Technicolor makes me dance, does it mater. If I see them both live, and sing every word(have done this 3 times Radiohead, 2 Coldplay) and love it does it matter? In short no.

When I think Radiohead, never has Coldplay crossed my mind. Why is that even an argument on this video? They're completely different, stop comparing them and enjoy both bands for what they are. Or don't enjoy them. Who gives a fuck.
