I get what yoiu're saying, but I don't think it's a matter of her not trying to hide her vulnerability, but more a case that she CAN'T hide it. At times when she's not at the microphone, she appears to look off into the distance like she's looking at someone for reassurrance. Whatever the case, there will never be another Janis.

Although I like the studio version better, this video shows the intensity and soul of Miss Janis Joplin. I would love to have been able to see her LIVE, but we have so much music, so much video of one of the best "blues" singers around. Forever rest in peace, Janis.

yeah.. but note that this is one of the very rare times she doesn't have a band standing behind her. usually in between singing she would turn to look at them to cover her nervousness, here there is noone there. i love her sincerety and the fact that she's not trying to hide her vulnerability. unique, always loved and never forgotten... |
